The Band CRIMSON TIDE was to play at Kingfisher village.
We may have either missed it or it not played at all.
We arrived there at 9pm and could not see the band.
Very unusual, as the programe only starts around 7.30pm
DJ music was plying and that too stopped due to power failure
Around 9.15pm. There were working on it.

More and more crowd

Bhepuriwalas, Ice golas (Rs.20), Chicken kebads, popcorns (Rs.20), Icefruit walas etc etc made brisk business.

Even the newest reastaurant partly owned by dy. mayor had some extra counters opened facing the pavements.

Today’s one man band was by ‘Wolfgang’

Sonia Sirsat and her band at Inox Courtyard.

Kingfisher village ‘AASMA’ show pulled the most crowd.

This group is from Bombay and it was said that they are the Channel V Pop Stars.

Everything was going so smooth but suddenly, exactly at 10 pm, it looks like

PI Chodankar(?) pull the plug.

After the ‘AASMA’ show that’s around 9.45pm, the band ‘Blue Waves’ took over and announced they are going to play their last two songs. They had just finished their song ‘Summer of 69’ and started the last one but exactly at 10pm suddenly all music gone dead.

It was very unusual of Goa Police to act in such rude manner.

There is always upto 30 minutes grace time given all over Goa.

There are no residential houses around as it staged at the river bank in the Campal Park.

Secondly, police do not usually come without any third party complaints.

It looks like this has something to do will the argument that was had with the police on the previous day. So, this time PI interfered.

Extra:

One Film director Mr. Makrand Deshpande whose film also premiered at Inox/IFFI toady title ‘ SHARUKH BOLA KUBSOORAT HAI TU’ came running at the Kingfisher village along with the film Heroine Preetika but the security guy did not allow the two inside the cordon for about 5 minutes and after talking to the organizers, they finally made up on to the stage dancing with the ‘Aasma’ who also happened to know them.

A suggestion to the organisers:
Let the King Momo and other artistes be at their repective venue as early as 5pm. This is being the day time, many will enjoy it, more over, it helps in clear photography, videography etc which is something that one can take with them (Iffi deligates etc) where ever they come from.

It may be noted that the popular promenade or the iffi corniche get crowded from 5 pm onwards.

More Hawkers, more beggars all from outside Goa.

Besides large trucks/pickup with gensets parked on the pavements

The so called Red Carpet at Old GMC entrance..

What a farce!

Red Carpet for whom?

Goa Police or the Armed Military force?

They are the one seen closeer to the carpet.

Middle of the road, some police obstructing the clear view of the public who are standing on other side of the road behind barriers.

As if that was not enough, the two way two lane busy DB road, vehicles including buses were passing both ways, often stopping in the middle.

Programes usually starts from 7pm but the promenade get crowded from 5 pm. Even the King Momo and the other artiste for Shigmo, Sangodd & Bonderam appear 7pm onwards.

The stage opp Dempo house seems sparingly used.

Ideally, this would be the better option for the Kala Academy congested stage which is located opp FL Gomes Garden, Children Park.

Beer flowing so cheap. Just Rs.20 per glass (Usually Rs.28).

Teens as young as 14 seen enjoying the cheap king of good time.

Some says, that gives them a kick to go onto the dancing floor.

At Inox courtyard too beer and wines available, looks like they did not take BS seriously this time too.

What more? Casino Royal promos say a ‘must visit’.

Dr. Varun Carvalho complained over the microphone that the security at the gate held the entire group for about two hours taking them as potential Pakistanis.

Their show was to start at 7pm but started just after 9 pm. due to hold up.

However, on the programe schedule for the day on Newspapers ads, it was said Band ‘Purple Rain’

I like the old bollywood films poster exhibition at Old GMC.

Films like Sholay, Andhi, Shree 420, Mother India etc are on display.

Out side the kala Academy, there were too many Policemen and para military force.
IFFI 2009 inaugural ceremony took place here at 5pm
Actress Waheeda Rehman, Ashin, Kabir Beddi etc were to attend.

The promenade was too crowded, it will not abe able to cope up with in the coming days.
More than half the space/width taken by the Goan houses tableau /potraits
with light focuses in front lying dangerously on ground.
Hopefully, these can be moved backward as there is about 1.5 mtr space behind.

On top, many hawkers occupied the front space. More and more will join in.
and not forgetting the numerous migrant beggars, mainly women each with 2-3 infants speading all over the floor.
(in Goa begging has become a good business, husbands/wives are working
leaving their infants with another woman to beg)

IFFI needs a flying squad to get rid of all hawkers and beggars or else it will bring disgrace to Goa. Goans are not beggars but the migrants are Goa is like a heaven for all.

Iffi delegates goodies gunny bags had only two books and there were no ' shopping discount coupons' as announced. The two books could easily go in a folder.

The said coupons were later on, around 8pm, were distributed to all general public on the promenade.

There were two stages on the promenade, one at Opp FL Gomes Garden, Campal 'Cannon Stage' (next to the cannon). Last two years, there were no such stages.

I must say, this is not the right place (for the reasons mentioned above) Ideally, it should have been somewhere nearer ti Kala Academy
